We will be performing at the Dock Tavern Charity Music Day 11 this Sunday in Gorleston on Sea. It is an excellent event featuring lots of top bands from the local area to help raise money toward the Norfolk & Suffolk Animal Trust as well as the Great Yarmouth First Responders. It is a free entry event but collection buckets will be circulating and wristbands will also be on sale to help raise money for the recent flood damage suffered by the Dock Tavern
Here is a running order for the day;
13:00 Lincoln Skins
14:00 Wendy House Collective
16:00 Distant Sun
17:00 The 'H' Gang
Our second gig of 2021 sees us return to the Green Gate in Caister on Sat 11th September. We had a great time performing there last year and this will be only our second gig at the venue.

Let's smash this virus up and get it out of our way so we can all return to normal as quickly as possible
Stay healthy and safe everyone
Due to the measures currently in place to slow down the spread of the coronavirus our gig at The Orchard Gardens this Saturday has been cancelled.
Stay healthy everyone and hopefully we'll see you at a gig soon.
All listed Distant Sun gigs are scheduled to go ahead as planned unless otherwise stated. If any of the band members are required to self isolate and the isolation period runs over a gig date announcements will be made on here and across our social media platforms to advise that the impacted gig will be cancelled. Equally - if we learn that any of our venues have gone in to lock down over one of our gig dates we will again publish an announcement to advise of the gig cancellation.
We hope you all stay safe and healthy and we hope to see you at a Distant Sun gig soon.
We have announced our first dates for next year - check out the gigs section for details!
We have had to cancel our gig at The Shoulder of Mutton on Sat 7th Dec. Our last gig of 2019 will be at The Jolly Sailors on 1st Dec.
We will publish our 2020 gig listings soon!
Distant Sun will be performing on Sunday 9th June for the pre-event gathering of the OVO Energy Womens Tour international cycle race.
The band performance will be taking place on an outdoor stage in the town centre of Beccles following a Q&A session with those involved in the race.
It will be a great way to spend a summer Sunday afternoon in June so come and join us. Here is some more info about the Tour below;
This year’s OVO Energy Women’s Tour Grand Depart in Suffolk will take place between Beccles and Stowmarket, marking the first time that both market towns will host Britain’s leading women’s procycling race.
Ninety-six of the world’s best female riders will line up in Beccles on Monday 10 June to tackle a 157.6-kilometre (98-mile) route that will take in the northern and central parts of the county before finishing in Stowmarket. Fans watching the action unfold at the finish on Ipswich Street will benefit from seeing a field comprising Olympic, world and national champions pass through the line twice during the stage.
Suffolk has previously hosted the opening stage in 2015 (Bury St Edmunds to Aldeburgh) and 2018 (Framlingham to Southwold), as well as co-hosting the 2016 race start (Southwold to Norwich) with neighbouring Norfolk.
Distant Sun are very proud to be headlining the first ever UnicornFest, held at the Turnstone in Hopton on Sea on 30/06/19 13:00 - 18:30.
Unicorn Fest is a live music charity event organised by Natasha Garforth in memory of hers and Distant Sun singer Rafes baby daughter Catarina Ruby Garforth.
Catarina passed away during an emergency C-Section on 17th October 2018. This event will raise valuable funding towards The Rosemary Suite at the James Paget Hospital. This suite is specifically for mothers who have lost their baby, for after care and recovery. The money we raise will go towards items for this suite.
Performance times are to be confirmed but Distant Sun will be taking to the stage at approx. 17:15
Distant Sun are delighted to have been selected to headline Capstock on 31st Aug 2019. Capstock is a private festival based in Haddiscoe with all proceeds going to charity
Please check out our 'Gigs' section for all 2019 gig dates so far.

Over the next few months we will be revamping our website to reflect our new line up so keep checking back for updates!
We are pleased to announce that our new lead guitarist is our good friend Guy Nottage! Guy used to perform in a band with Nick and Rafe back in the early 2000s and we are delighted to be teaming up with him once more. Guy brings with him a wealth of gigging experience both as a front man in a band and as a solo performer and will add a new dimension to the Distant Sun sound.
Our first gig with our new line up will be at The California Tavern on Sat 15th July. You can expect to hear some new material in our set and a fresh dynamic to our performances so we hope you can join us at a gig soon!
It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing our lead guitarist Lewis Hickin is leaving Distant Sun and will be moving on to new things. Lewis has been in the band along with Nick and Rafe for 17 years and during this time has played hundreds of gigs, performed in various festivals, recorded multiple EPs/Albums and featured in 4 music videos. Lewis's unique style of driven-melodic guitar playing formed an integral part to the sound of Distant Suns first 2 albums and his talents as a lead guitarist will be greatly missed.
Lewis will be performing his last two gigs with Distant Sun at the end of this month at Broadfarm in Fleggburgh on Sat 27th May and finally at The Jolly Sailors in Pakefield on Sun 28th May. We hope as many of you as possible can attend these gigs to give Lewis a tremendous send off.
As Distant Sun and as individuals we all wish Lewis the very best in the future and would like to thank him for all the years of hard work, fun, creativity and great chimes!
